Leaving for Ireland, WHEN?! EEK!

Time is rapidly disappearing between now and when I hop the plane to Ireland
And all I can think is...

Research?
What research have I done?
Nothing--not really.
Not because I'm not excited
But because I love the spur
When it's thought out
Planned
Too much
I feel a vice
On my insides
And I lose
The thrill of prancing in the moment to the bleh, schedule, details of it all.

That is the wanderlust talking...

But if there is no plan, mindless, aimless wandering
Can, could WILL occur AND important places, people, important moments
May not happen

I'll let them
Slip by
Through the fingers
Why?

Because I'm afraid of
Possible contriction?
So I restrict my
Research and planning?
My thoughts of the future?

How does that make sense?

Momentary it could be too
The constriction
And the outcome, sheesh
The experience
Could be a greater
reward
Life changing perhaps
A deeper love and appreciation
May occur
If I just...

PLAN A LITTLE!

Maybe plan to wander?
Hmm, is that structure talking?

What I know is this:

I want to see
Goats
Sheep
On the coast
of Ireland
waves crashing
A heavy mist
soaking my bone
A dirt road
to prance around
A bar
to belly up to
And maybe a boat
to float
Around
The Cliffs of Dover

A friend to travel with
A boyfriend to share it all

And I'll be
Happy and awed
To the core of me

Cause I'm traveling this globe
As the fool you know
trekking to the UK

In less than 63 days!

GATHER ROUND...!

I am all in a tizzy!

My first novel is just about to be published and I am swirling in stress. But I love it.

So! Everyone Gather Round...

Coming Soon:

HENRIETTA JAMES
BOOK ONE:
Not Everyone Poops

By: Nerissa N. Nordquist

Synopsis

Engulfed in anxiety, frustration and constant constipation, Henrietta Martha James spends her time writing angry letters to Taro Gomi, the acclaimed author of “Everyone Poops.” She is demanding a formal apology...an explanation...the possibility of rewrites...or at least a change to the title of his book because she, Henrietta, does not poop. Well, not like “everyone” does.

Growing up with an illness that doctors struggle to diagnose, Henrietta constantly hears how she is “supposed” to be, while discovering that “normal” does not apply to her – at least not the way her body works. A humorous and painful real-life journey into the world of digestive disorders, her story brings to light one of life’s dirty little secrets.

Quebec Road Trip OPENING INSTALLMENT #1

QUEBEC ROAD TRIP
NOVEMBER 27TH-DECEMBER 3RD 2011

OPENING INSTALLMENT #1
November 26th/27th early am...

We started out the night before with a cigar and some Jamison.

I was pumped though I should’ve been exhausted. I had been working my ass off to stockpile enough money to afford this “Fly by the Seat of Our Pants” road trip. Here the day had arrived and I could feel my brain turning to mush from the constant barrage of short nights and long days.

It was at the beginning of November that we decided to take a road trip. A week later we decided on Montreal. 3 days later I got a bug up my butt to go to Quebec City. Always pushing it, aren’t I?

At first it was only supposed to be 3 days. Then 5 days. Then 6 and finally when Quebec City came into the picture I took off one more day from work to make it lucky number 7.

I knew when we started planning the trip that I didn’t have enough money to go but I’m stubborn and a believer that if you work hard enough life finds a way—you find a way to make things happen.

That I did.

Now, part of the road trip experience is not knowing what is going to pop up or where or why and definitely never sure of the how…

So before and during your trip it is best to:

1. Do your research; i.e. maps, possible destinations, border needs, weapons and food allowed, international cell phone charges, international credit card fees and currency exchange

*Now Canada accepts US Dollars but it is worth less at this time. Verizon does not charge international fees for text messaging unless there is multimedia attached. AT&T IPhones offer an international package that covers texts, phone calls, internet access and multimedia.

2. Trust your gut (or your travel partner’s depending on who has the best luck)

*Our gut kept us on a timely path that was never dull and worth every moment

3. Always have back up funds for wrong turns, missed exits, impromptu hotel stays, snow storms/excessive rain, and navigational devices that go awry

*Always bet on more money for gas spent then what you believe because wrong turns always happen no matter what GPS system you have.

4. Switch up driving, take naps and stop for walks.

*Good not to get stuck in a drive rut because it can take the fun out of the open road. Take breaks and enjoy the scenery

5. Always have food in the car just in case.

*Snacks are a cheap and easy time saver

6. Know where your passport is.

*Can’t get across the border without it.

7. Embrace the open road mentality

*QUE SERA, SERA, WHAT WILL BE WILL BE

8. Go with someone you enjoy and who flows at the same speed as you

*It can make the trip amazing or royal class crap. Be careful.

9. And don’t forget to laugh.

Cause life is about laughter...at least that is what I believe.

CHILE JOURNALS "CORDOBA, ARGENTINA" JANUARY 10TH

JANUARY 10TH

CORDOBA, ARGENTINA
Last night at supper our server was a man from Brazil who looked just like Tom Baker from the 1970’s Doctor Who.

Great food and cheap!

It was nice to have good food again. Lots of flavors. I forgot about flavor in food.

Chile doesn’t flavor their food much. It’s more about bread, tortes, queso, seafood, and fresh fruits and vegetables.

Our hostel in Buenos Aires was full of the Israeli Army again!

It seems like they start in Buenos Aires, Argentina and then make their way through Chile—they follow the same path as the others we met in Pucon. They never deviate either.

I suggested they go to Antarctica since they had the time and they said no—it’s what others have done—it’s not part of the itinerary. Weird. Or weird to me at least. If I just got out of the army after being forced into it well, I don’t know what I would do—because I’ve never had that experience.

They all spoke Hebrew and again, I had no idea WTF anyone was saying.

Different culture, different language and I am completely lost; again. Poop.
